Model Highlights
The Maverick is powered by a 2L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with 250 horsepower and 277 lb.-ft of torque, which is sent to the wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission. A hybrid version is also available on the front-wheel drive Maverick with a 2.5L 4-cylinder that makes 162 horsepower mated to a CVT transmission, with the electric motor the horsepower increases to 192.
The Maverick is available in front-wheel and AWD as a SuperCrew with a 4.5-foot box, three trims are available XL, XLT and Lariat.
The basic XL trim comes with automatic LED headlights, 17-inch steel wheels, wi-fi hotspot, manual locking tailgate, power door locks, 2 USB ports, Ford's SYNC infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity, rearview camera, pedestrian detection alert, and forward collision mitigation. While the bigger SuperCrew cab obviously has larger and more comfortable rear seats, it's worth noting that even Ford has ditched the sideways facing rear seats of compact pickup truck lore, with all-four seats facing the correct direction and featuring reasonable leg room. All Maverick's have seating for five to fit comfortably.
The XLT trim adds both luxury and style over the XL with 17-inch aluminum wheels, bumpers painted in body color, auto high beam, power mirrors, Bluetooth, 6-speaker system, 8-inch radio touchscreen, power locking tailgate, and cruise control.
At the top of the Maverick lineup sits the Lariat, with leatherette seats, ambient lighting, and proximity keyless entry with push button start. The Lariat also comes standard with 18-inch machine finished alloy wheels, driver and passenger partial power driver seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a leather steering wheel.
Safety features include 7 airbags, including driver knee protection, stability and traction control, a rear view camera, low pressure warning system for the tires and a restricted driving mode. Optional safety equipment includes adaptive cruise control with stop and go feature, a lane centering system, BLIS Blind Spot Info System w/Cross-Traffic Alert, a Lane-Keeping System and an Evasive Steering Assist.
